All of our reusable bags are made from recycled and reusable materials. The
following are some important definitions for the types of material used to make
our bags.
EcoSpun
A textile using PET from recycled drink bottles.
It is a specialist fibre made using recycled plastics.
PET or PETE or Polyethylene Terephthalate
Is a thermoplastic polymer resin of the polyester family and is used in
synthetic fibers; beverage, food and other liquid containers; thermoforming
applications; and engineering resins often in combination with glass fiber.
It is one of the most important raw materials used in man-made fibers.
The majority of the world's PET production is for synthetic fibers (in excess
of 60%) with bottle production accounting for around 30% of global demand.
In discussing textile applications, PET is generally referred to as simply
"polyester" while "PET" is used most often to refer to packaging applications.
Non Woven Polypropelene or NWPP
Made from recycled materials
Category 5 on the Green Peace pyramid of biobased plastics
Lightweight
Strong
Hypo-Allergenic
Air permeable
Water resistant
Heat resistant
100% reusable
100% recyclable
Biobased Plastics
Polypropylene (PP)
is a simple polymer structure that do not need plasticizers. The polyolefins within
the material pose few risks and have the highest potential for mechanical recycling.
In comparison with polyethylene (PE) and traditional plastic shopping bags,
NWPP uses fewer problematic additives, has reduced leaching potential in landfills,
has reduced potential for dioxin formation during burning and has reduced technical
problems and costs during recycling.
It is a smart material and very environmentally friendly. It is great for all
types of retail packaging, marketing bag promotions and reuse in everyday life.
Since we are the product manufacturer, quality control is carefully monitored to
ensure that all our products pass the Canadian environment and quality standards.
Polypropene is commonly recycled, and has the number "5" as its recycling symbol:
